"KOMEK" called courses in Sarajevo were first opened in the premises of our school, which operates within the framework of the Maarif Foundation, based in Turkey. In the previous two cycles, more than 350 of our participants successfully completed their education in the following areas: ready-made clothing, silk painting, felting, Ebru, philography, knitting, cardboard embossing, foil embossing, embroidery with decorative ribbons and making decorative items. The courses started in collaboration with the Turkish TIKA Foundation, the MAARIF Foundation and the Konya Municipality, and the participants themselves showed great interest in the areas they chose earlier. Crafts created by our participants were first exhibited in the Mevlevi Tekke in Sarajevo. All materials used in our courses were provided by the Konya Municipality. We are happy that we are able to provide an opportunity for women in Bosnia and Herzegovina to experience the Turkish culture and to sojourn in a present working environment. Due to the new situation with the coronavirus pandemic, an exhibition of prepared crafts was held in our school campus this year, in September 18, 2020. Taking into account all epidemiological measures, the third cycle of artistic workshops under the name “ The art of Maarif " readily started in September 28, 2020 in our premises. One cycle of our courses lasts four (4) months.
